Description

This is my interpretation of Klimt's painting "Schubert at the Piano". The original painting was destroyed by fire in 1945, but photographs of the original exist. I was so inspired by this image that I wanted to have it hanging in my house! However, I wasn't happy with the quality of the commercially available copies. So, I decided to paint my own! It was a great learning experience. Note that this painting is not an exact copy. I took the liberty to modify one thing. The original had another small face in the background. There's a story behind this painting: A wealthy man once hired Schubert to teach his daughters music. This is Klimt's depiction of that event.
